These Terms govern all use of the Service. If the purchased Service involves a student under 18, the adult completing checkout is the contracting party for the paid Service.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Pathlio website, account flow, student questionnaire, checkout flow, report delivery flow, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Pathlio LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("Pathlio," "we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account, using the Service, completing the student questionnaire, completing checkout, or otherwise accessing Pathlio, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. What Pathlio is
Pathlio is a paid educational planning service designed to help students and families organize information, answer planning questions, and receive a college-readiness report with practical guidance and next steps. Pathlio is intended to support decision-making, not replace judgment, independent research, or professional advice where needed.
Pathlio is not a school, college, scholarship provider, financial aid office, or official custodian of school records. Unless Pathlio separately agrees in writing, Pathlio does not act as a school official or institutional education-record service provider.
2. Eligibility and age rules
Pathlio is not available for students under 13 years old. If a user identifies a student as under 13, Pathlio may block account creation, access, checkout, and report delivery.
For students ages 13 through 17, the student may move through parts of the Service, including account setup and the planning questions, but the Pathlio report may only be purchased and released after an adult completes checkout and provides the required attestation.
If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Pathlio only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
For users age 18 or older, the user may act as the adult contracting party and complete checkout directly.
4. Account registration and security
You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and using the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity that occurs through your account.
You may sign in using email/password or supported third-party login options such as Google. Third-party login is provided for convenience and may also be subject to that provider's own terms and privacy practices. You are responsible for choosing the correct account and keeping any linked Google account secure.
If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization or your credentials have been compromised, contact Pathlio promptly.
We may suspend or restrict access if we believe an account is being used in a way that creates security risk, violates these Terms, or could harm Pathlio, other users, or third parties.
5. How the Service works
Pathlio is structured so that a student or family can create an account, answer the planning questions, and then complete a one-time purchase before report delivery.
Report access remains tied to the Pathlio account used for the checkout flow. A different email address, a different Google account, or a later support request does not automatically transfer report access without Pathlio verification.
A report is only released after:
- the required planning questions are completed,
- checkout is successfully completed,
- the required adult attestation is recorded where applicable, and
- Pathlio's report generation and delivery process has run successfully.
Pathlio may delay or withhold report release if checkout records are incomplete, a legal or policy hold applies, payment fails, or the account appears to violate these Terms.
Delivery timing, dashboard availability, refund eligibility, and access-help details are described in the Billing & Refunds Policy.
6. AI-assisted service
Pathlio may use automated systems, language models, and other AI-assisted tools to help process submitted information and generate portions of the Service output, including the student report.
Because automated systems can make mistakes, omit relevant information, or produce outputs that become outdated, you should not treat Pathlio output as infallible. You are responsible for using judgment and verifying important facts, deadlines, admissions policies, financial aid details, scholarship terms, and other consequential information before acting on them.
Pathlio may use service providers, including AI service providers, to process submitted information and support report generation. Pathlio does not use submitted questionnaire or report information to train public or shared AI models unless Pathlio separately discloses that practice.
7. No guarantee of admissions or outcomes
Pathlio does not guarantee admission to any school, acceptance into any program, receipt of any scholarship, receipt of financial aid, improvement in academic or extracurricular outcomes, or any other specific result.
Any examples, suggestions, fit assessments, planning guidance, cost estimates, scholarship ideas, or next-step recommendations are provided for informational and planning purposes only.
8. Not legal, medical, mental health, tax, or financial advice
Pathlio provides educational planning support only. The Service is not legal advice, medical advice, mental health advice, therapy, tax advice, investment advice, or financial planning advice.
If you need advice in one of those areas, you should consult an appropriately qualified professional.
9. Your information and content
You may submit information about a student, family preferences, goals, academics, activities, and other questionnaire responses through the Service ("User Content").
You represent and warrant that:
- the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge,
- you have the right to provide that information to Pathlio, and
- you have obtained any permissions or consents needed for Pathlio to use that information to provide the Service.
You retain whatever rights you may have in your User Content. However, you grant Pathlio a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, and use that User Content solely as needed to operate, maintain, secure, support, and improve the Service for you, but not to train public or shared AI models unless separately disclosed.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of law;
- submit information you do not have the right to submit;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority;
- attempt to interfere with, disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems;
- scrape, copy, or systematically extract Pathlio content, reports, or site functionality for commercial reuse;
- use the Service to develop or train a competing product using Pathlio's content, structure, or materials;
- submit malware, harmful code, or abusive material through the Service.
11. Payment terms
Pathlio is a paid service. Pricing, if displayed on the website or during checkout, is part of the offer for the specific product being purchased.
Checkout and payment processing are handled by Stripe. Pathlio does not receive or store full payment card numbers through the Pathlio app.
By submitting payment, you authorize the applicable charge for the purchased Service, along with any taxes or similar charges that may apply.
12. Billing, refunds, and report delivery
Billing, cancellation, refund, and report-delivery details are described in the Pathlio Billing, Refunds, and Report Delivery Policy. That policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and the Billing, Refunds, and Report Delivery Policy on a billing-specific issue, the Billing, Refunds, and Report Delivery Policy will control for that issue.
13. Intellectual property
The Service, including the Pathlio name, branding, website design, software, service flows, report structure, report presentation, text, graphics, and other materials provided by Pathlio, are owned by Pathlio or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property and other applicable laws.
Except for the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms, no rights are granted to you.
14. Feedback
If you send Pathlio suggestions, ideas, comments, or feedback about the Service, Pathlio may use that feedback without restriction or obligation to you.
15. Suspension and termination
Pathlio may suspend, limit, or terminate access to the Service if:
- you violate these Terms;
- payment is reversed, disputed, or not completed;
- Pathlio reasonably believes the account presents fraud, abuse, legal, or security risk; or
- Pathlio decides to discontinue the Service or a portion of it.
You may stop using the Service at any time. Termination or discontinuation does not automatically entitle you to a refund except as required by law or as provided in the applicable billing/refund policy.
16. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Pathlio disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
Pathlio does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, fully accurate, fully current, or secure at all times.
17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pathlio and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, opportunities, or business interruption arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pathlio's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to Pathlio for the specific purchased Service giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
18. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pathlio and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, and licensors from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to:
- your misuse of the Service,
- your violation of these Terms, or
- your submission of information or content that you did not have the right to provide.
19. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles to the extent permitted by law.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida that have jurisdiction over the dispute, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.
20. Changes to these Terms
Pathlio may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date or version reflected on the page.
If we make a material change, we may provide notice through the website, the account, checkout flow, or the email associated with the account, as appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective means you agree to the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
